PRESERVATION CONCERNS

Preservation of various sites containing structures and buildings within the Patapsco watershed is an on-going concern. The architecturally unique Relay Hotel is just one of many sites that has been lost within the past 30 years. Several mill sites and their associated housing areas have already been lost. Others on public and private land are sitting vacant and are subject to vandalism. Still other sites, like the endangered Belmont estate that is almost surrounded by the Patapsco State Park, are under increasing development pressures. We are working with other preservation organization's to identify and protect significant sites.
