HORSEBACK RIDING

Riding opportunities are centered in the upper, lesser developed, portion of the Patapsco watershed. There are some horseback riding opportunities on private land. The most extensive horseback trail riding opportunities exist on the public lands associated with the Patapsco Valley State Park system. All of the trails within the Park are mapped and designated as to the type of activities (hiking, biking, horseback riding ) that may be done on each trail section. Maps showing horse riding trails are available in the Hollofield Headquarters. The Park has a very active Mounted Patrol which polices and maintains these multi-use trails.
